Eamonn joined the Westfield Group in 1986. After holding various positions in the Finance area he was promoted to the position of Chief Risk Officer in 2005.
Following the restructure of the Westfield Group in 2014, Eamonn became Chief Risk Officer for Scentre Group, the owner and operator of Westfield in Australia and New Zealand and retired in 2016
Eamonn is a past Chairman of the Risk Management Committee of the Property Council of Australia and former member of the M200 Association and a member of AIRMIC's advisory council. A regular contributor to Risk Management publications, he has adjudicated many industry awards.
He led the team that won the Risk Manager/Team of the year at the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) in 2010. In 2014 Eamonn was inducted into the Business Insurance Risk Manager of the Year Honor Role. In May 2017 Eamonn received StrategicRisk's Lifetime Achiever Award at their AsiaPac conference in Singapore.
Eamonn is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a founding member of RIMS Australasia chapter Board of Directors. A member of RIMS since 2001, he is the Chapter’s RIMS Delegate and is based in Sydney.
Chapter Vice President
As the General Manager of QIC’s Risk Management Group, Deb is responsible for managing the enterprise risk framework and strengthening the culture of accountability, governance and risk management across the organisation. Deb joined QIC’s Risk team in 2016 after 10 years in QIC’s Global Fixed Income team. From 2011 to 2015 Deb led QIC’s Global Trading team from London and oversaw fixed income, currency, equity and commodity trading across QIC’s liquid market product suite.
Deb reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer and is a member of QIC’s Risk and Valuations Committee; Liquid Markets Committee; Private Markets Committee; and the Global Real Estate Investment Advisory Panel. She is also a regular attendee at the QIC Board Risk Committee.
Deb graduated from UQ in 2005 with a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Information Technology. Since joining QIC in 2006, Deb has completed Executive Education studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Harvard Business School (HBS) in the areas of leadership and advanced risk management. In 2018 and 2019 Deb presented to the HBS Executive Education cohorts on QIC’s application the Risk Management for Corporate Leaders course, a program Deb completed in 2016.
In 2019 Deb was appointed to UQ’s Advisory Board for the UQ School of Economics and the Advisory Board for UQ’s Trust, Ethics and Governance Research Group.
Brian was instrumental in the establishment of RIMS Australasia Chapter, one of the first international chapters outside of North America to be granted chapter status under a Chapter Charter Agreement approved by the Board of Directors of The Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc.
Brian was a foundation member of Standards Australia OB/7 Committee responsible for the development of AS/NZS 4360: Risk Management, and leads RIMS Australasia’s contribution standards development on SA MB-027/5 Resilience and ISO TC 292: Security and Resilience.
Since incorporation in 2013 Brian has acted as honorary Executive Officer for RIMS Australasia and in 2016 was appointed company secretary.
Kevin Bates is the Group Head of Risk and Insurance for Lendlease and a prominent Risk Management Executive. With a senior executive career spanning two decades in corporate finance, investment, development and insurance, Kevin brings a deep understanding of the commercial landscape and the contextual risk leadership capabilities and behaviours that enhance business performance. This experience includes working with CEOs and Boards.
Kevin has developed specialist knowledge and expertise in the United States, Australia, Europe and throughout Asia by leading teams, setting risk profiles and creating risk retention, transfer and financing strategies, including managing local and global teams spanning diverse business units; managing internal and external stakeholders, negotiating major transactions and leading in corporate governance.
Kevin joined Lendlease in 2004 and was appointed to his current role of Group Head of Risk and Insurance in March 2014. Prior to his current appointment, Kevin spent 6 years as the Head of Risk and Compliance for the Retail and Communities Business with Lendlease in Australia, followed by the Head of Risk and Compliance for the Asia Region of Lendlease – a role which Kevin held from 2010 to March 2014.
Kevin joined Lendlease after a number of years practising as a Corporate Finance Lawyer with a top tier international law firm in London acting on a variety of high-profile international market leading transactions.
Kevin is a Director (and former President) of the Australasian Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and a Global Director of RIMS Inc. Kevin also sits on the Board of a number of Captives. In addition, Kevin was elected to become a member of the M200 Group, which he has sat on since 2016.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Diploma of Legal Practice and a Masters in Law and Arbitration.
Katie joined Woods Bagot in 2015 as the Global Leader - Risk, with overall responsibility for the risk management and insurance functions for this multinational architectural practice with offices in Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. Prior to this, Katie has had roles as Asia Pacific Risk Manager for Jacobs Engineering as well as in the public sector and insurance industries.
Katie’s expertise includes enterprise risk management, business continuity and crisis management, health and safety, insurance, claims management, sustainability, compliance, cyber and data security.
Katie has degrees in health science, history (honours) and a Masters in Risk Management from Monash University. She is also the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for Norfolk Island Regional Council.
Katie joined RIMS Australasia in 2019 and is based in Melbourne.
Trevor oversees the Risk and Insurance functions for Charter Hall, a leader in the Australian property investment and funds management space. Prior to Charter Hall, Trevor enjoyed 10 years at Lendlease as senior risk and insurance manager for Lendlease Property Australia and worked across the Investment Management, Retail, Retirement Living & Communities businesses.
In addition to risk management Trevor has extensive experience in the insurance industry and held positions at Marsh and Allianz as well as working within Lloyds of London and the London Reinsurance market. Trevor is also a member of the Property Council of Australia’s National Risk Round Table.
